A woollen dress fabric used principally for sportswear. The basis is a small contrasting check design, white and colour, such as 4 white, 4 colour; 5 white, 5 colour; or 6 white, 6 colour. Very often a faint red, or blue overcheck is introduced to give patterns up to 2-in. square or more. A typical make has about 42 ends and 36 picks per inch.
